Hotels - Chateau Miramar

About  Chateau Miramar

If you are visiting Havana on business or want to stay somewhere quieter outside the bustling centre, you will find Hotel Chateau Miramar a good choice.

Chateau Miramar is located a few miles from central Havana in an exclusive residential neighbourhood where there are many fine restaurants. The hotel sometimes puts a shuttle on for guests, though it should take around 20 minutes to the centre in a taxi.

The exterior of Chateau Miramar hotel is austere & unwelcoming, though inside is paradoxically bright & colourful with the friendliest staff you could hope to find. The hotel facilitates business travellers with a number of meeting rooms, though guests of all backgrounds will enjoy the elegant split-level swimming pool that looks out on the ocean. Towels are provided for swimmers, though there are plenty of loungers if you prefer to relax in the sun, while Chateau Miramar also has a pretty garden.

The staff at Chateau Miramar are wonderful & eager to please, delivering fine service at the pool bar, snack bar & restaurant, which has great pool & sea views. Food is arguably better at breakfast with an omelette chef making tasty concoctions to order, though it is perfectly adequate in the evenings.

Hotel Chateau Miramar overlooks the National Aquarium which is well worth a visit, especially for families, though guests in some ocean-facing rooms can watch the show in comfort for free.

This is a modern hotel which belies its bland exterior & is sure to provide a warm welcome for guests of all types, though its location is likely to appeal most to business travellers.

Tropicana Cabaret

For more than seventy years, Tropicana has been the most recommended venue for those wishing to experience the traditions, flavours and rhythms of the Caribbean. Opened in 1931 the Tropicana has played host to Benny Moré, Nat King Cole, Jack Nicholson and 'Lucky' Lucian and many more. Every night, its "Under the Stars" show features one hundred dancers and musicians who treat their audience to a spectacular performance among the palm trees and aerial ramps. But Tropicana is much more than just an enormous open-air nightclub. Tropicana also means history, tradition and, above all, excellent cuisine.
